A teenager was on the brink of losing her life if it was not for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix hero named Max.  Max felt something wrong, so he ran away from home and went straight to a cliffside near Sussex.

The area was famous for many suicide incidents. That hinted the 46-year-old George Conner, Max’s owner, that there was an accident waiting to happen. Having no idea on what was upsetting Max or why he acted that way, George followed the nosey dog, and they investigated.

There, at the edge, he saw a figure of something, not clear enough. He thought it was just a bunch of trash left at the edge of the cliff, but as he got closer, he confirmed that it was someone, a young girl, sitting alone.

George called for help immediately. Max, on the other hand, never left the girl’s side until the police arrived to respond to the distress call. The duration of time the girl was staying at the location was unknown, but it was evident that hypothermia was starting to take up her body.

The officers arrived at the scene and tried communicating with the girl, but she was not responding, so they decided to just pull her off the edge and rushed her to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Clear signs of hypothermia were manifested by the girl. Her eyes were “rolling back into her head” and almost lost consciousness.

The teenager could have passed out and endured a 60-foot fall. Thanks to Max and George, the girl was set to have a full recovery, After the incident, Max remained as vigilant as ever, looking after any potential threat to safety that he gladly responds to around their vicinity.
