Dogs that have issues with their digestive system require special tools for eating. One such tool is called a bailey chair, which allows dogs to process food faster by making them sit upright during mealtimes.

Griffin is an example of a dog who uses this item, and his story proves how impactful it was to his quality of life.

Griffin is a very friendly and vocal dog. At first glance, he doesn’t look like the type to have any health issues. In reality, Griffin has a condition called megaesophagus, which makes it hard for food to reach his stomach. His foster parent, Nicole, bought a bailey chair so he could eat while standing on his hind legs only and allowing food to easily drop to his stomach.

Eventually, Nicole found out that there was a surgery that could be done to fix Griffin’s problem. She was excited for him to go through the procedure. Having the problem fixed would allow Nicole to find a permanent home for the dog more efficiently. This meant that future owners won’t see Griffin as high maintenance.

After the surgery, Griffin began eating without his bailey chair. He still ate food that was on an elevated surface, but he would eventually be able to eat normally. Nicole was happy to see how ecstatic Griffin was when he could eat with ease.

Seeing the progress that the dog had made, Nicole’s next step was to find potential adopters. Several hours after putting out advertisements, a couple interested in Griffin contacted Nicole. The adopters, Katherine and Pep, met with the dog and immediately established a connection. Griffin greeted his adopters with lots of kisses.

The couple was well-prepared for adopting Griffin. They bought a special food processor and coordinated with Nicole to ensure that he was fed properly. Furthermore, they allowed Griffin to explore their home freely during his first day there.

Overall, Katherine and Pep provided everything that Griffin needed. The sweet dog no longer has to worry about anything in life. The owners swore that Griffin would never experience stress ever again.
