For so long, actress Selma Blair struggled with constant pain in different parts of her body. She even experienced moments wherein she could not control herself and she would just laugh or cry and she didn’t know why. As it turned out, she was suffering from a condition called Multiple Sclerosis which affects her central nervous system.

After her diagnosis, things started to slowly get a bit better for Selma as she received treatments that helped alleviate the pain. But aside from treatments, she also had her dog Scout by her side who definitely gave her the much-needed strength. And just recently, Selma announced that the two of them are officially a service dog team.

Scout who is an English Red Fox Labrador trained for a year and a half to be certified as a service dog and Selma trained with him as well. After their graduation, Selma posted photos of them on her Instagram as a celebration. Scout even wore a graduation hat and a red service dog vest which definitely looked good on him.

Aside from being very handsome and friendly,  Scout has been an amazing and reliable companion, and the actress is so happy to have him. He has been helping her in what she calls her personal stumbling blocks. Scout also aids a lot in her mobility so as a person with a disability like her, she feels more independent.

If you happen to see them walking around, Selma appreciates a smile though she discourages being approached. The actress has been building her stamina coordination with Scout and distractions really set her back. She is definitely taking this time to focus and settle so that she and Scout could get out of the house even more.

Of course, Selma’s family and friends have also been very supportive of her and Blair also received a lot of outpouring love from her fans. Selma promised that she will definitely continue to share their journey with everyone.
