Most people believe that cats and dogs can never be friends because of their stark differences. This has been the portrayal in media for too long about the relationship between cats and dogs.
However, we already heard stories of dogs and cats being best friends. These stories are proof that dogs and cats can be friends.
This Golden Retriever named Lucy and his new feline friend named Joey is only one of the many positive stories about dogs and cats.
However, the friendship story of Lucy and Joey is unique. Lucy’s parents found the four-week-old kitten all alone in a field. They thought that someone was with Joey.
However, when they realized that the cat was alone, they knew that he was a stray. When they saw Joey, Lucy’s parents fell in love with the cute cat right away. As such, they brought him home with them.
Since they have Lucy with them, the fur parents had inhibitions of bringing Joey home. This is because they thought that Lucy would not appreciate the presence of a cat inside the house. But the parents were wrong because when Joey arrived, it was Lucy who warmly welcomed the cat.
In a video the fur parents uploaded, the Golden Retriever was so gentle with the small cat. The dog happily leaped after realizing she already had a new friend and playmate. Understandably, though, the kitten was a bit nervous because of Lucy’s size. It took Joey a while before he could trust that Lucy would not hurt him.
After they uploaded the video online, many dog lovers commented on how pure the friendship between Lucy and Joey is. Fortunately, the couple’s daughter continues to share adorable moments of the two new friends on her TikTok account. In several TikTok posts, the two could be seen cuddling and playing with each other as if they were siblings.
