Dulci Barbosa owns a café in Brazil, which had been closed because of the lockdown. Despite that, Dulci never stopped serving meals to her very special customer – Deneres, the sweet stray dog.
It was last year when Deneres started her visits to Dulci’s café. Dulci is a dog lover, but she already has three rescue pups at home. So, she could no longer take Deneres in. However, Dulci still ensures that Deneres’ belly is always full.
Even after her café closed, Dulci would go to the store every day to leave food out for the sweet stray dog. According to Dulci, Deneres does not have anyone to count on other than her. So, Dulci ensures that the pup never goes hungry. Maybe that is the reason why, Deneres eventually saw Dulci as more than just a source of food, but also a trusted friend.
A few weeks ago, Dulci finally got to reopen her café. Sure enough, the sweet dog was among her very first customers. Deneres eagerly arrived to greet her friend with her wagging tail. Since then, the pup has been visiting Dulci every morning. She gets lots of love and a delicious free meal when she drops by.
Dulci has a great love for Deneres, and, by the looks of it, the feeling is mutual. Although Dulci was unsure where the dog spends her days, she could tell that the pup was not alone. Her body shows signs that she has been nursing a litter of puppies. These babies have been benefitting indirectly from Dulci’s kindness to their mom.
A few days ago, Deneres finally felt comfortable to introduce her litter to her friend. After breakfast, Deneres led Dulci right to her puppies. Dulci was thrilled and planned to rescue the family and put them up for adoption. She also gave them a free meal.
Sadly, though, stray dogs are quite common in the area where Dulci lives. However, she is doing her best to ensure that the little family would not get overlooked. She started campaigns for them to get adopted and is optimistic that she will find them homes. After all, a sweet customer like Deneres deserves nothing less.
