Since the pandemic happened, we have not been able to see our friends as frequently as we would like. But that was not quite the case for these two Golden Retrievers from Florida who are the best of friends. Rather than causing them to be separated from each other, the situation has actually prompted them to spend more time together, and their unbreakable bond is warming hearts all over the internet.

Since they first met, Kevin and Captain have been Tampa, Florida’s most adorable and inseparable canine duo. This was not a surprise, though, as they quickly warmed up to one another after being introduced. In fact, the two Golden Retrievers became fast friends.

Since they lived so close to one another, Elyse, Kevin’s pet parent, and Jane, Captain’s owner, always made sure to organize play dates for them. Elyse would frequently drive Kevin to Captain’s house, where they would spend the entire day hanging out and playing.

Kevin already knew what his closest friend’s house looked like, and Captain had memorized Kevin’s family’s car. Captain’s neighbors also were used to seeing him with Kevin and knew they were thick as thieves.

Elysse and Jane have lately chosen to upgrade their two dogs’ playdate to a sleepover. It was safe to assume that the two dogs were ecstatic about the arrangement. As soon as Kevin arrived at Captain’s driveway, the latter began jumping with joy.

The pair then engaged in their customary hours-long play that consisted of wrestling matches. Their fur parents then organized a romantic candlelit dinner for them, followed by a dog movie with lots of popcorn for them to munch on.

The next day, as Kevin said goodbye, Captain found it difficult to let go of his best buddy.

Thankfully, they were able to meet again the following week, and they would undoubtedly have more sleepovers in the future.
