A local animal rescue organization in Seoul, South Korea received multiple reports from residents about a creature that roamed the streets at night. They believed it was a wild animal and feared it would eventually harm them. So a handful of volunteers responded immediately.

The rescuers opted to begin their efforts to find this animal at night since that was when the residents saw it. They waited, and eventually, from the pitch-black night, a pair of staring eyes emerged. To everyone’s surprise, a small dog appeared and fled away fast.

They went after the dog, but it was too fast and they were unable to catch it. It fled the area, went up a steep mountain trail, and vanished. They attempted to follow it, but they weren’t able to see it anymore.

The following morning, the rescuers traveled to a mountain trail that wasn’t often used by hikers after being advised by the locals that this is where they will discover the dog. True, they discovered a dog beneath a truck parked deep in the woods, but it was not the same dog.

A couple of residents confirmed that the dog never left his location. He frequently followed passing trucks and automobiles, yet he always returned to sit near or beneath the truck. Even when it poured, he remained stationary, as if he were stuck to the spot.

As the volunteers continued their efforts, they discovered that at least three dogs resided in the area. In addition, they searched the truck for anything that could assist them find answers regarding the dogs. Sadly, they discovered nothing. Instead, they discovered the dead body of another dog beneath it.

The team installed cameras around the area and quickly discovered that there were four nearly identical-looking canines. They followed their tracks and, not far from where the truck was, discovered a demolished structure with traces of a past home. There was likely a resident there, which was the dogs’ owner.

The rescuers eventually found a woman who knew the dog’s owner. She stated that the dogs saved him from the terrible cold, which made him decide to care for them. But he passed away approximately two months before.

A concerned resident, on the advice of an animal behavior specialist, volunteered to foster the dogs. He pledged to assist them in adjusting to their loss until they are ready to find new families.
