A family from Sevierville county in Tennessee credits their canine hero for saving a kid’s life. The dog selflessly rescued the three-year-old from imminent danger and suffered the consequence in her place. They believed that the stray dog who came to their neighborhood a few days ago has a mission as their guardian angel.
The Bentley family decided to adopt the hero dog they named as Oreo after he saved the youngest member of their family, Aurora Bentley. Sima Bentley says her granddaughter looks to celebrate her third birthday and they wanted to gift her with a pet dog. So they decided to adopt none other than their hero dog and give the best gift they could give Aurora.
They narrated how Oreo helped them when Aurora came running across the yard on a Sunday to play. Then stray dogs came running towards the kid wanting to attack her. They came out of nowhere from the woods of the mountain area. Luckily Oreo saw what’s happening and quickly rushed to rescue Aurora. He placed himself between the baby and the attackers, so the vicious dogs attacked him instead of the kid.
The horrified Bentley family rushed to help the poor canine and brought him to Sevier Animal Care Center to receive immediate care. The hero dog undergone bandaging in the facility and later sent to put up for adoption as he’s a stray animal.
The decision to adopt Oreo did not come immediately as the shocked family only looked to save the dog and still on the process of realizing what happened that day. They came into a conclusion later on and decided that they cannot leave him be just like that. Sima shared that she always tells people that God shows up whenever someone least expected it. She believes God placed an angel in their yard that fateful day.
The events made them decide to celebrate the child’s birthday in the Sevier Animal Care Center. They now look forward to giving the dog the best in life he deserves as part of their forever family.
