A man named Matt Bentley was driving at the salt flats in Utah one night when he saw a four-legged animal suddenly appear in the middle of the road. Since the animal blocked his way, he didn’t have any choice but to stop and check if the animal was okay.
The animal was a hairless dog with a severe case of mange. The dog was cold and starving, so Matt carried the dog back to his vehicle and brought her to Utah Animal Adoption Center for assessment.
From there, the shelter took over and started the dog’s rehabilitation and treatment.
The dog was later named Kelly.
Jamie Jacques and her daughter Whitney volunteered to foster Kelly. Jamie said that Kelly seemed to communicate with them through her eyes the first time she saw her. Jamie said that there was an instant bond between them. From there, Jamie decided to help Kelly in her recovery.
Slowly, Kelly’s fur started to grow back. In three months, her coat had fully developed, and her health improved.
Jamie’s family has decided to give Kelly a permanent home too!
Jamie’s family had decided to meet up with Kelly’s rescuer fifteen months after seeing her on the road. They had agreed to meet at the Utah Animal Adoption Center, where Matt brought Kelly for rescue and treatment.
Matt was also excited about the reunion. He even brought a toy for Kelly. He was surprised to see her transformation! Kelly, too, didn’t stop wagging her tail as soon as she saw her rescuer. Who would’ve thought that a hairless dog turns out to be a beautiful, furry dog?
Thanks to Matt! If not for him, Kelly could’ve died in the cold and not given a chance to show her beauty.
