Dogs love to chase balls. We often teach dogs to play fetch using tennis balls, and we even get them to chase soccer balls. However, there are times when dogs do get overly excited about balls and end up interrupting amateur or even official matches that involve balls.
A stray dog in Gori, Georgia, happened to wander inside a soccer pitch. The stray dog already has a tag on its ear, which meant that it was already spayed or neutered and given its vaccinations. When the stray dog innocently wandered into the soccer pitch, it probably thought that it could join the soccer players.
The overly excited dog started running around the soccer pitch wanting attention from the soccer players. All of this happened during an official soccer match between two professional Georgian soccer teams, and the fans loved it. Although the soccer players tried to ignore the dog’s presence in the field, the dog was determined to play with the soccer players.
When the soccer players tried to catch the dog, the dog thought it was a fun game of tag and tried to happily run away from people chasing it. One of the players got the dog’s attention, and after a little sniff of the player’s hand, the dog started rolling over and showed its belly, apparently wanting some belly rubs.
Although the soccer match ended with a draw with neither of the two teams scoring, the crowd was delighted to have that three-minute entertainment from the stray dog. It’s unknown what happened to the stray dog, but here’s to hoping that someone adopted the dog and gave it a loving forever home.
