A worker from a construction site in Brookline, Massachusetts became curious when he suddenly heard some faint barking coming from somewhere in their workplace. He looked around for a couple of minutes and couldn’t find the source. Then he suddenly realized that the noise was coming from a portable toilet. When he looked inside, he was surprised by what he found.
A dog was certainly there, and he was abandoned in a very elaborate way. The skinny dog, a corgi mix, was inside a mop bucket box. The trapped pooch somehow managed to get her front paws out of the box, but that was all she could do.
The worker immediately called the authorities.
Unharmed but frightened
The police officers soon arrived in the area and set the dog free. They then brought her to an animal clinic. Vets gave her a thorough checkup and declared her to be healthy.
But being placed in a horrifying situation caused some stress and mental anguish. The pooch was visibly scared of everything around her.
After her visit to the vet, the pup was moved to a local shelter. The kind and patient shelter staff catered to her needs and convinced the canine that she was in a safe environment. The corgi then started to come out of her shell. She became more relaxed and willing to interact with people.
Tons of applications
As the dog didn’t have any collar, tags, or microchip, there was no way for the shelter to determine her owner. After a week of being rescued, no one came to pick her up, and the staff put her up for adoption. Numerous people sent their adoption applications.
Now named Princess Loo, the dog didn’t have to wait long to find a new forever home. She went to a very loving woman who lives near the area. It was almost Christmas then, and the dog owner said that her new pet was the best gift she had received.
