Dogs and cats being enemies are no longer the default belief surrounding both animals. Pets that meet in calm and friendly situations are less likely to start fights with each other. Many stories out there prove that even those considered rivals can become the best of friends.

Rooney is a corgi that gets very excited whenever she sees a cat. Seeing her get excited compelled her owners to foster a cat. Eventually, a small cat named Olive was introduced to her.

At first, Rooney was unsure and afraid of the cat. Fortunately, her curiosity was greater than her fear, allowing her to approach the cat. Olive was eager to bond with Rooney, so they became best friends. After some time, the owner decided to keep Olive for good.

After some time, Rooney’s owner fostered two kittens. Those cats eventually became a permanent part of the household too. The owner said she kept failing the foster arrangement because the cats would get too attached to Rooney, to a point where they could no longer be anywhere else.

Rooney’s owner takes her wherever she goes, may it be camping or road trips. Olive, on the other hand, is less outgoing, making it surprising that the two pets jive well together. Even with the other kittens in the house, Rooney would still default to Olive as her best buddy.

Rooney has developed a routine with all the cats. She and her owner often go for walks on the beach with the cats, except Olive. Then when they return home, Rooney spends more time with Olive.

The owner admits that there’s a lot more chaos when there are four pets in the house, yet it’s also more fun. She says the experience is like taking care of four toddlers. The owner made it clear that she would never trade this life for anything else.
