One of the worst experiences for pet lovers is to lose their beloved animals. Imagine the worry one has to go through, the endless search, and the hoping that their dog or cat is safe.

One dog owner went through the worst ordeal when his dog went missing at sea. He thought she did not survive. But a miracle happened. It turns out, Luna was alive and well on an island!

Fisherman Nick Haworth always brings his one-year-old German Shepherd and Husky Mix Luna with him to the sea. The sweet dog always helps him out on his fishing trips. On February 1st, something awful happened to Luna. She fell off the boat and got lost in the waves.

Nick told authorities that his pet is a great swimmer – and that she probably headed out to the nearest shoreline. According to authorities, that would be San Clemente Island, located a few kilometers from where she was last seen. Luna’s owner was confident that she found dry land.

For two days, Nick, along with rescue groups, searched the whole island. Even the navy force from the island helped out in the search for Luna, to no avail. They looked everywhere – but Luna is still nowhere to be found. With a heavy heart, searchers told Nick the unthinkable – that Luna might be dead.

The grieving Nick expressed his sadness on Facebook. He could not believe his dear Luna is gone. According to Nick’s post, he is broken-hearted that Luna is gone. All of his family members paid their respect for the beloved dog. Unknown to Nick, a fantastic surprise will knock his socks off precisely five weeks later.

Rescuers called Nick to tell him that they spotted Luna on the island! According to Sandy DeMunnik, public affairs officer of the naval base, they saw Luna lounging near the road, greeting every passerby by wagging her tail. We can all imagine Luna’s reunion with Nick – the moment he finally believed in miracles! He is just so happy that Luna is back.
