Dogs are known to befriend just about any kind of creature, big or small. But have you ever thought of a dog being friends with a dolphin?

Highly unlikely, right? After all, dogs live 99% of their lives on dry land, and dolphins spend their entire lifetime in the seas.

But for a playful Rottweiller-Husky mix, even the sea can’t keep him away from being friends with some of the creatures in it. And rightly so!

Cliff Gilchrist is a boat owner who takes visitors for a ride on his boat in Florida. He takes them on a Captiva Island Fishing Charters boat ride.

In one particular ride, Eileen McGunagle was fortunate enough to see the beautiful friendship between Cliff’s dog, Lucy, and a dolphin named Gus. She didn’t expect to see a dog on a boat ride, let alone a dog doing what Lucy did in front of Eileen’s eyes.

Lucy is a 3-year-old pooch who loves to go boat riding with Cliff. She regularly goes out to sea with Cliff, and because of her love for the sea, she managed to befriend a local – a dolphin, to be exact.

While Eileen was on the chartered boat ride, she captured Lucy and Gus’ friendship on camera. As the boat cruised through the serene sea, Gus would swim next to it, greeting Lucy with a playful gesture.

Lucy excitedly watches Gus from the boat, and the two even almost share a nose boop! They have gotten so fond of each other that they spend most of their time playing, even if not physical.

Gus’ excitement over Lucy’s presence is evident in his playful strides and the way he swims on his side to keep an eye on Lucy. If this isn’t proof enough that dogs are the friendliest animals in the world, then we don’t know what is.
