Dogs are loyal animals. They never forget their family, and they will always remain fateful to the person who raised them. Dogs can sense how we feel, and they also know how to cheer us up whenever we feel sad or lonely. Our dogs are always there whenever we need them, and they never fail to give our mood a boost.
A US Army Veteran named Tony Karpaitis is the proud owner of a dog named Cake. He rescued Cake since she was a puppy and raised her with his wife and granddaughter. Tony and his wife eventually got older and had to live in a retirement home to get assistive care.
Cake had to move in with their granddaughter, Michelle, when the elderly couple moved to the retirement home. Tony’s health eventually deteriorated, and he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Tony started forgetting things, and he soon had trouble recognizing people. He even had difficulty recognizing his relatives who came in to visit.
Tony’s granddaughter, Michelle, had a brilliant idea to bring Cake whenever she visits her grandfather. However, it wasn’t as easy as she thought. Michelle had to have Cake pass a behavior test to be allowed inside the retirement home. Thankfully, Cake passed and was allowed to visit Tony and his wife.
When Michelle brought Cake over to visit Tony, everyone was surprised how it changed Tony’s mood. He instantly recognized his beloved dog and brightened his day. Cake didn’t forget Tony as well. She went straight to him and gave him cuddles. Tony was so happy when Cake visited him that his mood improved.
Even as years went by, Cake still remained loyal to the person who raised her. Although Tony couldn’t find the words to describe how he feels whenever Cake comes in for a visit, his facial expression shows just how happy he is. Here’s a heartwarming video of Cake and Tony being reunited.
