Some people try to move away or be on guard whenever they see a pit bull nearby. Such a reaction is due to the negative perception that people have of these dogs. However, time and time again, such perception has been proven false by countless stories about pit bulls who would never hurt a fly.
Ottis is an excellent example of a dog that strangers judge. Only his owners and friends know how far his personality is from people’s expectations. In reality, Ottis is a silly dog who is spoiled and pampered and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.
Ottis’s owners like to call him Brad Pit Bull, a pun that perfectly describes him. Just like the actor Brad Pitt, Ottis knows how to act whenever he wants something, whether food or toys. The dog will get what he wants by pouting or looking sad, a trick his owners cannot resist.
The owners don’t see Ottis as a pet. Just like most owners who spoil their dog, they see him as another human who is part of their family. This explains why they feed him full homemade meals. Ottis was also there during his owners’ wedding, standing beside the groom as the couple exchanged vows.
One day, Ottis’s owners adopted a cat named Maya. The cat wasn’t very fond of him. Even so, Ottis didn’t mind having the cat around, even if he had to be constantly careful not to cross the cat’s personal space.
Aside from being a source of fun and happiness, Ottis is also a mediator. If his owners are arguing, he will get in between them, and they will forget what they were fighting about. The owners jokingly refer to Ottis as Buddha whenever he gets them to stop bickering.
