In a small community in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a puppy that was in dire need of help suddenly appeared. He lay completely motionless on the ground begging people for help. He cried in despair but no one cared enough to even take a look at him.
With the way he cried, it was clear he was in agony. He probably had hurt his legs, which was why he couldn’t stand or even move. Or maybe, someone deliberately caused him pain.
The puppy wanted to live so he held on. He continued to try and make people notice. And thankfully, he did what he did because, finally, a Good Samaritan spotted him and called for help.
When local rescuer Svetlana Karipidi saw the puppy, her heart shattered into pieces. She assumed he was only a few months old, and yet, he had been through so much. She promised to help him and she started fulfilling her words by taking him straight to the vet.
The 6-month-old puppy, now Knopa, had enormous wounds on his thighs and anus. He was still alive but maggots already started feasting on him. He was a living corpse and there was no guarantee that he will live a normal life even if he survives.
Knopa was in the worst state but he trusted his rescuers and his vet team that they’d everything to cure help. He bore a little more hardship to complete heal. And while his progress was quite slow at first, he made tremendous progress as days went by.
Heavy pain meds, strong doses of antibiotics, daily massages, and balanced nutrition helped Knopa to regain his health and strength. While he was never able to use his hind legs again, he got his own wheelchair to keep him going.
Knopa became unstoppable once he fully recovered. He became a joyful dog, and he stole the hearts of many. And because of how he battled through life, he inspired a lot of people, including his new forever family.
