Thousands of dogs are surrendered to shelters by their families every year. It’s such a heartbreaking thing to witness, but some people are no longer able to care for their beloved pet dogs. A dog named Harvey was surrendered to Faithful Friends Animal Society.
Harvey had a family, but his owners were no longer able to care for him, and they were also separating. He eventually ended up at the rescue shelter, where he waited patiently to get adopted by a new family.
While Harvey was living in the shelter and waiting for his forever home, he did something amazing. Harvey was out for a walk with one of the handlers at the shelter when he started acting out of the ordinary. Harvey started barking at the storm drain.
Harvey’s handler thought that it was strange, so they decided to go for a closer look. That’s when they found a trapped kitten. Harvey’s handler called the shelter’s cat department to help save the tiny kitten.
Eventually, they realized that there was more than one trapped kitten in the storm drain. Thanks to Harvey, the shelter was able to rescue three kittens in total. The three kittens were eventually taken to the shelter where they recovered from their ordeal.
When the kittens were strong enough, they were placed in loving foster homes where they wait for a loving family to adopt them. Harvey, the hero dog, continued to stay at the shelter.
Harvey is an adorable dog who’s finding it hard to get adopted. He’s placed in the Faithful Friends Sanctuary Care Program, where animals that are harder to adopt are placed. Eventually, Harvey was adopted by a family in Georgia who fell in love with him the first time they saw him.
Harvey is such a sweet dog who loves cuddling. He’s also a great running partner but also enjoys quiet time on the couch. Harvey now lives a happy life in Georgia, which he truly deserves. Here’s a video showing how Harvey helped save the lives of the trapped kittens.
