Two employees of Villalobos Rescue Center has been trying to rescue a stray dog for weeks. They tried with no luck. This pit bull puppy would immediately run away if it sees any human try to approach him.
Lizzy, also an employee at Villalobos Rescue Center, went with the two employees to help. They needed to get that puppy off the streets because it’s not safe for him.
The dog can get hit by a car or attacked by other dogs. When the rescue team arrived at the location, they asked around about the canine. One resident told them that the dog often hides under a particular truck.
Since Lizzy and the other rescuers knew that the dog would run off, they thought of using a trap near the truck. This didn’t work.
As they were setting up the trap, the dog saw them and transferred to another vehicle. He hid under a van as Lizzy approached him.
Lizzie threw a few treats his way, but he never took any of them. This concerned Lizzy. The dog was too scared even to eat the treats. It showed that the dog has lived all his life on the streets and was very fearful of humans.
This makes the rescue even more challenging. Since the dog won’t eat any of the food, they set another trap near the van. When the dog saw the trap, he immediately ran in the opposite direction.
Lizzy tried to approach the puppy again, and this time, the puppy was within her reach. They finally got him.
When they tried to put him inside the crate, he fought hard not to get in. The rescuers gave the dog a minute to relax. They tried to put her inside the crate again, and this time, they were successful.
It would take time for the puppy to adjust, but the rescuers are sure that he’s going to warm up to them. All they want is to help him. They hope that the dog will soon realize what they’re trying to do.
