Yes, we know that this sounds like the story of Hachiko, which shows a dog’s loyalty. Well, this story is similar but this one happened in Chongqing, a metropolis in southwest China. Also, Hachiko is an Akita but the one in our story today is a Chow Chow mix.
One of the major reasons why we really love dogs so much is because they are extremely loyal to us. However, the ability to patiently wait for their owners for really long hours is not that common. Few dog owners could really claim that their pets could do that.
The dog in our story, Xiongxiong, truly surprised us all. Every day, he would walk with his owner to the Liziba train station, which is quite close to their home. Upon arriving there, his father would enter the station and start his workday. However, instead of returning home, Xionxiong waits outside for his father’s return.
The majority of dogs would have strayed or returned home, but not Xiongxiong. He waits there for 12 hours until his father returns.
Xiongxiong had become an internet celebrity because of this unusual behavior. People from all around the city would flock to the Liziba train station to see the dog in real life. Many of them would even try and take photographs with the dog.
What many people are surprised about is that Xiongxiong would simply sit there while waiting and would not even eat. Fans of the dog said that he is that disciplined that he would not take or eat any food or dog treats even if they tried to feed him. Xiongxiong only eats what his father gives him.
At around seven o’clock each evening, when Xiongxiong’s owner returns from work, the dog becomes energetic once again. As dog lovers, we can appreciate just how thrilled he is to see his father.
